April 18th - Busy Day for PVVFD

On Friday, April 18, 2025 at approximately 1:15PM the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a brush fire in the vicinity of 926 Peekskill Hollow Road.

Windstorms hit Putnam Valley

On Tuesday, April 15th - strong windstorms passed through Putnam Valley, triggering numerous calls for wires down, wire fires and brush fires as well.

PVVFD was dispatched to various locations to extinguish fires, before turning over the scene to NYSEG to work on the down wires.

On Tuesday March 18th, the PVVFD Officers and Members drilled on two very important skills, Search & Rescue and Ladders. There were two teams of interior members, and each had an opportunity to perform a search in a two-floor building in full gear, SCBA packs and tools in hand. On Saturday, March 15th, Cub Scout Pack 53 held their Pine Wood Derby at the Putnam Valley Vol. Fire Department Headquarters. The Scouts and parents’ setup the tracks on the apparatus floor and raced their cars down the tracks, with a good time had by all.
