Putnam Valley Fire Responds to Rollover on Peekskill Hollow Road

On Sunday, August 2, 2015 at aprox. 10:45 PM. the Putnam Valley Fire Department responded to a one car motor vehicle accident (rollover) on Peekskill Hollow Road in the vicinity of Jeannie Drive. The vehicle did force a temporary road closure while the driver was given medical assistance and subsequently transported to the Hospital for further evaluation and care by the Putnam Valley Ambulance Corp.

Motor Vehicle Accident on TSP

On Sunday - July 26th - PVVFD was dispatched to an automobile accident on the Taconic State Parkway. The driver suffered from injuries and firefighters assisted with administering first aid and secured the scene so the patient could be transported via ambulance for medical attention.

Hiker Rescued off Appalachian Trail

On Saturday - July 25th - PVVFD responded to a call for a sick person stranded on the Appalachian Trail. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a 65 year old male, who had been camping in the area, severely dehydrated. Rescuers had to utilize special trail ready apparatus and were able to extracted the victim from the woods for transport by an awaiting ambulance.

Firefighters Make Quick Work Of Vehicle Fire

2nd Lieutenant Jason Cobb, July 28

At approximately 13:31 hours PVVFD was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire next to a structure. 24-1-3 was first on the scene confirming a working vehicle fire ten feet from the structure. Firefighters made quick work extinguishing the fire. minimal damage was done to the siding of the house. all units were clear of the scene at 14:00 hours... (Full Story & Photos)

Congratulations to PVFD members as they marched in the Brewster parade on Wednesday July 22nd. The department took home a trophy for best Tanker and 2nd Best Non Regulation. Thank you to all those who came out to march, support our department and also to everyone who worked on getting the apparatus parade ready.
