PVVFD Kicks off the Parade Season at Ossining

Financial Secretary Lois Rizzi, May 22

On Saturday, May 21st, PVVFD participated in the first parade of the season in Ossining. The department took home Best Tanker and 2nd Best Non -Reg. Great job b y the members who participated in the work details to ready the Tanker and came out to march.

This year, PVVFD will be using 4 flags and 2 rifles in the Color Guard line up. Good luck with this new formation for this parade season.

On Saturday, May 15th, the PVFD provided a demonstration on patient extraction using the many tools available to them when faced with a car accident with a patient trapped inside or under the vehicle. They used the “Jaws of Life” and other heavy duty hydraulic tools like cutters and spreaders, which were used to demonstrate how to remove car doors, roofs. On Wednesday, May 4th - Putnam Valley Fire Department responded to a 2 car PIAA on the TSP, by Pudding Street. Members responded, with one individual from the accident being taken to the hospital via ambulance.

PVVFD RESPONDS TO KENT FOR BRUSH/RUBBISH FIRE

2nd Lieutenant Jason Cobb, May 11

At approximately 14:14 hours the Putnam Valley Fire Department was requested to respond mutual aid to Kent for a brush fire in the area of 170 Waywayanda ct. First arriving units started to stretch hose and created a fire line.
