On Wednesday, April 29th at approx. 7:30 PM, The Putnam Valley Fire Department responded to an roll-over automobile accident on the Taconic State Parkway, in the northbound lane, just south of Route 301.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the vehicle rolled over onto its side, with the driver trapped inside. Firefighters had to stabilize the vehicle using “struts” (in photo) to prevent it from rolling over onto its roof and possibly causing very serious injury to both the entrapped driver and the rescue workers themselves. Once the vehicle was stabilized, heavy duty hydraulic tools were used to “cut” the car and extricate the driver so he could be transported for medical attention.
