On Thursday July 15, at approximately 7PM members of the Putnam Valley Fire Department F.A.S.T Team were dispatched to assist the Mahopac Falls Vol. Fire Department who were operating at a structure fire in their district.
Putnam Valley's Rescue 24-6-1 responded to the scene with a full crew of F.A.S.T. certified firefighters and the Chief of the Department 24-1-1.
Upon arrival our members stood by in the event of an emergency.
As Putnam County’s only Certified F.A.S.T. Team, the primary purpose of our team is to be readily available for immediate search and rescue in the event any firefighter personnel are trapped, injured or unaccounted for at a fire scene.
Our F.A.S.T. members spend countless additional training hours to learn and practice the skills necessary to achieve and maintain the title of F.A.S.T. Team member.
