As Chief of the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department I would like to welcome you to our official website.

The Putnam Valley Fire Department is always searching for new members. Unfortunately, over the past few years, volunteerism has dropped off tremendously, putting quite a bit of strain on the volunteer service itself. What people usually do not consider is that there are so many aspects to the department where people can help. Not everyone is required to run into burning buildings or cut people out of cars. We need "exterior" members, which basically serve as scene support, Fire Police to direct traffic, Safety Officers to keep working members safe and Drivers to get trucks to the scene. So, if you've thought about giving back to the community or volunteering, contact us and we can set up a conversation to answer any questions you may have.
