Putnam Valley Fire Department Updated Announcement February 16th, 2025
The Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department has announced the indefinite suspension of the clothing drop for the Garcia family, effective February 16, 2025. This decision follows an overwhelming response from the community, with donations on Friday, February 14, surpassing all expectations. The Garcia family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the immense support received.

President JD Apostolico expressed appreciation on behalf of the department’s officers and members, thanking everyone who contributed. He highlighted how the community’s unity during times of need exemplifies the special nature of Putnam Valley.

Previously, the department had set up a clothing drop-off location at the Putnam Valley Parks and Recreation Department to assist Fire Police Officer Juan Garcia and his family after their home was destroyed in a fire on February 10, 2025. The community’s generous response has now fulfilled the immediate needs of the Garcia family.
