On Sunday, May 18th Scout Troop 41 held their Car Wash Fundraiser at the Oregon Shell Station in Cortlandt Manor. The Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department has a long history with the Scouts. There are many members within the department that were Scouts in their younger years, and several that continue to support this organization as Scout leaders and have sons and daughters that are currently participating in the program.
When the department heard of this fund raiser, we wanted to show our support, so the 3 Chiefs brought their vehicles along with a fire truck to the event.
The kids were surprised to see all the trucks and got to work cleaning all of them with the help of their parents. It was a great feeling to help out this organization, but even better to see the excitement on their faces when the trucks pulled into the station.
Great job by Scouts Troop 41 and parents/leaders, for organizing this event – we hope it was a great success and so glad we were able to support you as well. |
