PVFD Responds to Vehicle Fire

On Monday, March 25th at approximately 5pm, a call came over for a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, a landscaping box truck and equipment was fully involved. The crew worked quickly extinguishing the fire, along with pulling out all the equipment in the truck; lawn mower, leaf blower, shelving and other items. The Annual Recognition Dinner was held on Saturday - March 23rd at Cortland Colonial Restaurant. There were members, family, friends and distinguished guests that enjoyed good food and dancing, as many of Putnam Valley's finest were recognized for their contributions over the past years.

On Tuesday, January 30th, members of the F.A.S.T. team held a drill at HQ. The team worked on sharpening their skills in search and rescue scenarios. There were two team’s setup, and each had an opportunity to perform a search on the apparatus floor, working to find the victim, perform the appropriate “packaging,” using webbing around the victim's body to assist with removal from the building. ...
